Week Four

"May a good vision catch me

May a benevolent vision take hold of me, and move me
May a deep and full vision come over me, and burst open around me
May a luminous vision inform me, enfold me.
May I awaken into the story that surrounds,
May I awaken into the beautiful story.
May the wondrous story find me;
May the wildness that makes beauty arise between two lovers
arise beautifully between my body and the body of this land,
between my flesh and the flesh of this earth,
here and now,
on this day,
May I taste something sacred."
—David Abram

"The world is wide, and I will not waste my life in friction when it could be turned into momentum." - Francis Willard

"Be willing to be embarrassed:  be willing to admit what you want to do." David Allen

"You got this. You are enough. You can do it."
I smiled while I was typing that to you because I was typing it - to you.
I imagined that you were reading it and feeling the truth of it -- because why not? Just why not be enough for a life you are already in?  You can handle it. You can grow it. You can be it. You can because you are here.

This always ends up being true in some way even when we cannot feel it.

To me, it's funny when you look at it that way - you are already in it. For me, it is harder to decide the next step than to walk it. Once I am hiking up the mountain, I just keep hiking; it's getting out of the house in time with my hiking shoes, water and snack or deciding that taking a whole morning to hike is okay that's  the difficulty for me. Once I am moving, I keep going.

How about you? Is it pre, in medias res, or post that are harder? It's a good thing to identify for yourself.
And can you consider that you are in your life already, so another step is better than no step at all? Can you consider the tiny step, the easy step, the "no-one-will-even-notice" step, the "this-won't-make-any-money" step, or the ever evasive: "I-just-want-to-do-it-because-I-enjoy-it" step. Yeah, that one.

Look back at our 3 weeks together. What are you proud of? What have you enjoyed? How have you changed your own perspective? And you know the perspective in which we tell our story changes everything.

Meet a Friend: Meghan Gaffney Wells' video blew me away. I met her a little while ago - and you cannot forget her once you meet her. She is bright, brilliant and kind. She went for - jumped, and listen to what happened. I appreciate her honesty about climbing over some places in herself...courage and a little bit of grace are a deeply magical combination and you never, ever know when and where that wind is blowing.

Notice how she says, "This isn't something I do, it's just something I like to do."

Watch Meghan's story here.

let me tell you
this: someone in
some future time
will think of us."

plant taro; if your plan is for ten years, plant koa;
if your plan is for a hundred years, teach your children."

Since this is our last week - carry forward with the best you can do each day. We will have a check in, and a little extra when the resource page goes live at the end. See you in our FB group! Aloha, Kate
